THE KING'S SPEECH (2011)

Prince Albert (Colin Firth) memang tak pernah berharap menjadi raja Inggris. Ia tahu benar keterbatasan yang ia miliki. Tak mungkin ia memimpin

sebuah negara sebesar Inggris sementara berbicara di depan umum saja sudah jadi perjuangan berat buatnya. Celakanya takdir berkata lain dan Albert harus segera naik tahta.

Untuk mengatasi kekurangannya ini, Prince Albert lantas mencoba mengikuti terapi dari Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Lionel Logue punya metode yang aneh namun nyatanya metode ini berhasil menyembuhkan Prince Albert dari gagapnya. Sepeninggal Raja George V (Michael Gambon), Prince Edward (Guy Pearce) yang seharusnya naik tahta memilih menikahi Wallis Simpson (Eve Best) dan itu membuatnya tidak memenuhi syarat sebagai seorang raja.

Kini tiba saatnya buat Prince Albert untuk mengambil alih tampuk kekuasaan. Albert tahu kalau itu bukan urusan mudah, apalagi Perang Dunia II sudah di depan pintu. Ia harus mampu menyembuhkan gagapnya secara total. Dan itu tak akan berhasil seandainya tak ada Lionel Logue, terapis dengan metode aneh yang ternyata sangat efektif. Konon, sepanjang pemerintahan Raja George VI, Lionel Logue selalu hadir setiap sang raja berpidato.
